Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal. Using state-of-the-art technology, a small amount of electricity is gently applied using a very flexible, hair like size probe, inserted in to the existing pore at the base of the hair.
Probe is attached to a probe holder from a state of the art computerized electrolysis machine.
Machine sends a measured amount of electric current to the root of the hair, thus disabling the root by cauterizing the source of life of the hair. The hair is then removed with a tweezer.
Yes, electrolysis hair removal is a safe and effective method for hair removal when performed by a trained and experienced electrologist. At Elevate Electrolysis, we use state-of-the-art equipment and follow strict safety protocols to ensure your safety and comfort during the procedure.
The best method for hair removal depends on various factors such as skin type, hair texture, and area to be treated. At Elevate Electrolysis, we offer permanent hair removal using Electrolysis which is FDA approved unlike Laser, which is hair reduction (which means it will come back)
The only areas that cannot be treated are the hairs inside the ears and inside the nostrils (mucosa). The following areas can be treated: Hairline, eyebrows, top of the nose, cheeks, sideburn area, upper and lower lip, chin, throat, neck, shoulders, back, chest, breast, abdomen, arms, legs, bikini line, brazilian areas, hands, feet, ears, toes and fingers.
Do not wax, sugar or thread for at least 4 weeks before initial treatment. Shaving is okay, but hair growth is needed to treat the area. Freshly shaven areas are not ideal. We need to see the hair and the direction of growth. If the hair is not long enough to treat the area, this may result in the forfeit of your appointment. Be sure to hydrate the skin with lotion as well as drink plenty of water the day before. Avoid caffeine if possible.
Electrolysis is the only true permanent hair removal method and the only treatment recognized as permanent by the FDA.
Unlike other hair removal options, professionally performed electrolysis eliminates unwanted hair, permanently, with unsurpassed results.
Unlike laser, electrolysis successfully targets all skin types and all hair colors.
Waxing, threading and tweezing or shaving are all temporary methods. However, in some cases ingrown hairs and discoloration may result. Additionally, these methods can require a lifetime of maintenance. Many can appear inexpensive but cost more due to long term use and are found to be inconvenient.
Electrolysis works on most areas of the body to give you smooth, sleek healthy looking skin. No other solution claims such universal acceptability and success.
The length of a electrolysis sessions depends on the area to be treated. The number of sessions required for optimal results varies depending on individual factors such as hair color and texture.
Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area being treated. AN hour of treatment can look like the area of 2 fingers on the face or the size of the fist on the leg.
Factors such as hair growth cycles, the quantity and structure of hair present, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, certain medication and stress influence the treatment program for each individual. It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan to achieve optimum results.
Hair goes through a cycle of growth in which electrolysis can permanently destroy hairs only when they are at the "active growth" stage (Anagen). In this stage they are connected to the blood and oxygen supply that the hair needs to grow. When this is damaged, a new hair cannot grow. Hairs can be removed in other stages of growth, however, a new hair will still grow, but weaker, until it is caught in the growing phase.
Electrolysis costs depend on a number of factors including: How much hair needs to be removed, the size of area being treated, and where you get your services performed.
For best results, follow the electrologist's recommendations in
scheduling appointments. For areas that have been waxed or tweezed, treatments will be more frequent than for areas that have been shaved. Best to schedule a free consultation.
Electrolysis treatments sting, but individual tolerances vary greatly.
The Permanent results are worth the temporary discomfort.
Even the most sensitive person should be able to tolerate the treatments.
The sting from treatment is quick, and then it's over... almost like tweezing for the first time, some hairs more than others.
Some say: Like a tingling sensation, a topical anesthetic cream may be used in some cases.
Some people get 3 to 4 hours sessions, without any numbing creams. Others can't take more than 15 minutes.
Immediately following treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling and bumps, which varies with each individual. There may be scabbing or crusts which should go away with a few days without picking.
